What is officially available

The CAS publishes past exam papers, examiner's reports (model solutions with common errors) and pass marks for its upper-level exams. Actuarium does not reproduce copyrighted papers; use the official archive below and the practice set on this page, which is original and written in the same style.

Sittings worth mining

Spring 2019 โ€“ Fall 2023 (paper era)

Full papers and examiner's reports were released; now the best calibration for question depth.

2024 onward (CBT)

The CAS releases sample items and a content outline rather than full papers.

Recurring question patterns

  • One or two questions each sitting on thinning/superposition of Poisson processes.
  • MLE plus asymptotic confidence interval is a near-certainty.
  • GLM output tables where you must compute a fitted value or a deviance comparison.
  • ACF/PACF identification of a low-order ARMA model.

The practice tab reproduces these patterns with original numbers โ€” work a pattern here, then confirm against the official paper.
